How to keep rain sounds playing when your iPhone locks
For Apple's built-in Background Sounds, go to Settings → Accessibility → Audio & Visual → Background Sounds, then turn off Stop Sounds When Locked. In Yixiu, enable background playback, choose rain and set 15, 30 or 60 minutes before locking the screen.
Apple documents the built-in setting in Apple's Background Sounds guide. Use that option first if one of its included sounds is all you need.

Two ways to keep the sound going
Apple's built-in feature is free and needs no extra app. Yixiu is an alternative when you want its nature recordings and timer controls.

Open Apple's Background Sounds
Open Settings, choose Accessibility, then Audio & Visual, then Background Sounds.

Allow the built-in sound while locked
Turn off Stop Sounds When Locked. Start the sound, lock the iPhone and confirm that it continues at a comfortable volume.

Or choose a rain scene in Yixiu
Open Yixiu, choose a rain scene and enable background playback. You can try the matching Window Rain recording above first.

Set a timer, then lock the screen
Choose 15, 30 or 60 minutes, start playback, then lock the screen. The selected timer ends the session without keeping the display awake.

Keep the volume low
Test the loudest part before setting the phone down. The sound should sit behind the room, not become the center of it.

Why do Apple's Background Sounds stop when I lock my iPhone?
In Settings → Accessibility → Audio & Visual → Background Sounds, check Stop Sounds When Locked. Turn it off if you want the built-in sound to continue while the iPhone is locked.
Do I need an app for Apple's built-in Background Sounds?
No. Background Sounds is included in iOS. If one of Apple's built-in sounds fits your needs, it is the quickest option and does not require another app.
Can Yixiu keep rain playing with the screen locked?
